H13 is a very popular and widely utilized Hot Work Die Steel. It is regularly used in forging and die castings applications, extrusion tooling, shearing, but also in plastic molds. H13 exhibits good thermal resistance, good high temperature durability, good abrasion resistance, highly machinable, and excellent hardenability. H13 is readily available in Plate, Block, Round Bar, and Drill Rod Forms. The optimal hardness range is 45-52 HRC.
